We're more than a university. We are a diverse community of students, academics and partner organisations in London and around the world. We transform potential into success by giving people opportunities to build their confidence, skills and connections for the future.
Leading the University forward
Middlesex University is a destination for students and staff who want to achieve their potential, and get the most from their professional and academic careers. It makes sense, therefore, that we have a management team run by hard-working, forward-thinking individuals and an organisational structure that's geared to deliver success. Middlesex University is overseen by a Board of Governors and managed by the University Executive. Our Vice-Chancellor Professor Tim Blackman heads the Executive.
Exceptional people
We employ more than 1,700 staff, including many notable leaders in their academic field, as well as active practitioners and committed researchers. As you look through this site, you'll find links to their personal profiles, which outline their wide range of achievements and the opportunities they bring to students. Middlesex University has three faculties, each one a lively community of teaching and research:
The University’s academic provision is delivered by its three academic faculties, structured to closely align teaching and learning with industry.
The Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries is an exciting creative hub which inspires and challenges students in a friendly, inclusive and innovative environment. Teaching is underpinned by industry-standard facilities enabling students to shape their disciplines using the most relevant equipment and technology.
The Faculty of Professional and Social Sciences – with strong links with businesses and public sector bodies, the Faculty provides practical real-world learning that prepares students to become change makers and to create and share their knowledge between the professional and academic worlds.
The Faculty of Science and Technology brings together subjects including biomedical science, computer science, design engineering, telecommunications and computer engineering, mathematics and statistics, information systems and environmental science. Bringing together leading academics, the Faculty encourages students to challenge thinking and formulate approaches that are fit for purpose in our modern world.

Reputation and impact
There are many ways we support our local communities, from offering students and staff volunteering opportunities to our considerable contribution through our research, teaching, business and community partnerships.
As a charity, it's our privilege to be able to provide a university education to anyone interested in furthering their study, and we offer a staggering wealth of activity to support it. Critical to our success is continuing to develop a lasting and supportive relationship with the Council, and the wider community, of the London Borough of Barnet.
With more than 25,000 students studying at our campus in London, we're helping to contribute more than £242m to the local economy (according to latest figures), while supporting an estimated 3,000 jobs.
